12/31/2015-
All those hours playing video games has finally paid off... in review form. Rainbow Six: Siege review up, a giant Fallout 4 review is up. I also threw up the wikipedia definition of "censorship". If you're wondering why, be sure to listen to the Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 24, which I also recorded, edited, and published.
New Year's resolution to be productive on the site is already accomplished, so time to coast...
12/22/2015-
Hey, look... a review! And it's the most obvious one for the 2015 busy holiday season, too: Kane and Lynch 2. Podcast episode 23 is up. The first half of it is jacked. Can't have everything...
12/08/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 21 published. Internet is managable again, so streams are back on. Back to games, and maybe someday I'll write a review or something.
12/02/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 20 published. Having troubles with my internet, so rather than stream slideshows I'll wait for the problem to be resolved. Hopefully in the next day or two a technician will come out and fix this shithole of an internet connection I have. Calling Comcast customer support for the past few days has been a joy... Comcast is a piece of shit.
11/24/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 19 published. Still playing Fallout 4. Still playing Halo 5. All is well.
11/17/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 18 up. Halo 5 finally reviewed. Found a way to center widgets, so minor improvements to site layout. Continue go down game rabbit hole...
11/10/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 17 published. Still no new reviews... because I'm playing awesome video games, you heathens. Check the Hitbox channel if you want content.
11/3/2015-
The Halo 5 24 hour livestream is done. Yet I continue to play Halo 5 every waking hour of my life... No new reviews? Not even Halo? No. Fuck you. Recorded and posted the Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 16. We played Halo 5 while we did it. And Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider comes out next week. I'm a busy boy...
10/26/2015-
The countdown is on for Halo 5 and the 24 hour livestream I plan on doing in less than twelve hours. To prepare, I plan on posting the podcast early, so expect that by the end of the day. Also to prepare I have a carton of cigarettes at the ready and will stock up on coffee shortly.
In the meantime, the Fatal Frame 5 review is up as well as reviews for Obscure and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. I also dug up a real old post from 2010 explaining why Mass Effect 2 kind of sucked. I feel like I've done enough for the week, so Halo, Halo, Halo...
10/20/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast 14 is available for your listening pleasure. If you can't tell by the giant Jason Vorhees staring at you on the top of the page, I'm pretty excited for the Friday the 13th game, even if it's only a Kickstarter campaign at this point and it's a year away. Once the goal of $700,000 is reached, I'll most likely break out the old LJN NES Friday the 13th and play/stream that classic. Unless it's after Halo comes out... in that case I'll be deep in my Halo Hole.
10/9/2015-
A giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders: Metal Gear V is out of my life. Never again... Now I just have to shit out a review of the final Fear the Walking Dead episode and hopefully focus on some games, shows, and movies that aren't complete garbage.
9/29/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 11 up and awaiting your approval. Still slogging through Metal Gear, but Forza review should be up soon (spoiler: it's a fantastic racing game). The Halo hype is real... 24 hour live stream still something I look forward to on October 27.
9/19/2015-
Currently playing two massive games: Metal Gear Solid and Forza 6, so don't expect new reviews for a bit (except some shitty Walking Dead TV ones, maybe). This is compounded by the fact that MGSV's online doesn't even launch for a couple weeks, so that may have to wait to make sure it's not a complete shitshow. I am getting close to finishing Forza's career (though nowhere near all the races, of course) so after dicking with that some more a review may come out of my ass sooner rather than later.
Podcast is still going up as usual (episode 9 has been out, 10 will focus on Tokyo Game Show), so listen to that and maybe comment/send in some e-mails? Be a little interactive, you cunts?
9/8/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 8 published. If you're wondering why there hasn't been much else happening on the site, two words: Mad Max. Is huge. I'm playing. Fuck off.
8/26/2015-
Hitbox stream embedded on main page. RSS player embedded in "Ear Shit". Podcast Episode 6 published. Feed has been updated to latest episodes on iTunes/Stitcher/wherever.
8/23/2015-
Hey! Grunt Free Press Podcast RSS Feed submitted to iTunes and Stitcher, Media Player added to "Ear Shit" page. So stay tuned for when we inevitably get shut down! Podcast episodes will be lagging behind a few episodes through the feed, so to stay up to date be sure to download directly from this site.
8/18/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 5 recorded, edited, published. Choke on it.
8/16/2015-
Replaced Mad Max: Fury Road terrible screen cap with slightly less terrible screen cap. Banjo-Kazooie, Fury Road reviews up. Reformatted old content in "Old Shit", "Archival Shit". The more I think about it... fuck Twitter. Fucking lemmings.
8/11/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 4 published. Episode 3 was published at some point... Horsehead and Company of Heroes 2 reviews up. Looking into a Twitter account for site visibility. I think it's a pretty useless service used only for advertising, but people use it I guess?
7/28/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 2 published.
7/27/2015-
Forum added to "Community Shit".
7/23/2015-
Grunt Free Press Podcast Episode 1 published. I know the title "Ep1 Final" for the MP3 is a bit shitty. Noted. Tested site on phone and desktop for usability and non-fuckedness. Surprisingly seems to work. Quick review of Journey in progress. Looking into forum app for "Community Shit."
Minor changes to layout.
7/19/15-
Dicking around with the site, still not live. Need to have a decent amount of content before I even bother clicking the button and seeing if it's fucked or not (probably fucked).
Luckily have some reviews and blogs around I can repurpose here. It's a bit of a mess, but will be nice to have anything "important" in one place. This front page is (somewhat) intentionally messy, just need to sort the other pages to not be such a clusterfuck, but have plenty of content. Ordered mic for a podcast. Hopefully by the time I have one recorded and edited, I'll be good to go live.
Note: if you're wondering why the reviews on this page seem odd/random, it's because I'm currently going through my Steam backlog in alphabetical order. Seems like a good idea when there's
jackshit coming out for a couple months. I DO actually play new games as well as random retro games, and hopefully will have other non-game related topics to discuss. This is the start of
something hideous.
